Bengaluru: The son of a 55-year-old woman has filed a complaint after the woman died by suicide at her house in Bengaluru allegedly due to harassment by her friends over financial issues.

The victim has been identified as Jayalakshmi, a resident of Thimmaiah Road, Bharathi Nagar. Her son Harish Kumar alleged his mother hanged herself due to harassment by her friends over financial issues.

He claimed that his mother’s friend Merina and her relatives, Mery Stella and Appu, had borrowed Rs 9 lakh from her and when asked to return the money, the trio promised to do so by August 16, but didn’t.
