Bengaluru: Woman loses Rs 34k after dialing fake Flipkart customer care number

Bengaluru: A woman in Bengaluru dialed the fake Flipkart customer care number she found on Google and lost Rs 34,057 to fraudsters.
In a complaint with the CEN police station (North East division), the victim, Anusuya from Sampigehalli narrated her ordeal.
As per the complaint, Anusuya had booked a t-shirt on the e-commerce website Flipkart. As the package was undelivered, she searched for the Flipkart customer care number on Google and called them to find the status of the order.
The person who picked up the phone assured to solve the issue and asked the woman to download the Anydesk application, which allows persons to control electronic devices from a remote location. He also took the OTP received on the woman’s phone.
Later the woman came to know that Rs 34,057 was withdrawn from her bank account.
CEN police said that the investigation is on to trace the culprits.
