In a tragic incident reported from Subramanyapura, Bengaluru, a woman killed her two children attempting suicide.
The woman, Mamata Sahu, originally from Jharkhand, lived in Muniswamy Layout, Uttarahalli, with her husband Sunil Sahu, an Ola auto driver.
On Thursday night, Mamata noticed Sunil speaking to another woman over the phone and this led to a heated argument between the couple. After Sunil left the house, a distraught Mamata strangled her children – Shubham Sahu (7) and Shia Sahu (3) – with a rope.
She then sent a selfie of her deceased children to Sunil and attempted to hang herself, but the rope broke. She later inflicted injuries on herself using a knife. By the time Sunil returned home, both children were dead, and Mamata was lying unconscious in a pool of blood.
Sunil rushed her to a hospital, where she survived.
Subramanyapura police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
