Bengaluru: Woman steals Rs 11 lakh jewellery from friend’s home; held

Bengaluru: A 26-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly stealing gold jewellery worth Rs 11 lakh from her newlywed friend’s home in Bengaluru.

The accused has been identified as Azra Siddiqui, a resident of Benson Town.

Azra visited her friend Roohinaaz and had entered the friend Roohinaaz ‘s bedroom at least three times under the pretext of changing her clothes during a visit.

Roohinaaz found out that her gold ornaments were missing when at night she went to keep her newly purchased perfume in her bedroom.

She immediately filed a complaint and police detained Azra for questioning. Police recovered the jewellery, which Azra hid under a neighbour’s water tank.
