Bengaluru: A young man was stabbed to death during Shivaratri celebrations on Friday night in Girinagar, police said.
The victim was identified as Srinagar Yogesh (23), who worked at a bike service center. The incident occurred at a temple program, where Yogesh allegedly got into a fight for a trivial reason: touching others while dancing, the police complaint said.
According to the complaint, four youths followed Yogesh and committed the act as he was returning home on a bike after the program. Yogesh was stabbed with a knife.
Initially, it was suspected that he might have been killed by broken glass while attempting to escape. However, police investigation revealed that he was fatally stabbed.
The Byatrayanapura police station registered a case, apprehended four suspects, and is currently investigating the matter. Police stated that the incident does not appear to be related to any previous enmity.
