Bengaluru: Youth tries to intimidate his parents by stabbing self, dies of the injury

Bengaluru: A 23-year-old youth who attempted to intimidate his mother by inflicting a wound on himself with a knife succumbed to the injury at a hospital.

The deceased identified as Syed Sahil, a resident of J J Nagar locality was a scrap picker.

His father, Abbas had reprimanded Syed after noticing that he was whiling his time with his friends rather than go to work.

On Sunday, the day of the incident Syed was watching television at home instead of going to work. Angered by this his father scolded him and then left to visit his married daughter.

Syed’s mother was in the kitchen when he walked in took a knife and in a bid to intimidate her inflicted an injury upon himself. He warned his mother that he would stab himself to death if they rebuked him again.

His mother immediately gave him first aid and advised him not to indulge in such behavior again. After some time Syed started crying out in pain and he was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to his injury.

Police registered a case. An investigation is ongoing.
