Bengaluru’s ‘lady don’ elected Rama Sene women’s unit chief

Bengaluru: Right-wing organisation Sri Rama Sene has appointed Yashaswini Mahesh (37), alias Muniyamma, the city’s first woman history-sheeter as the president of the organisation’s state women’s unit.
Several people criticised the move to elect a history-sheeter to a position of power after a video showing her being inducted to the post by Pramod Muthalik, founder of the Sri Rama Sene went viral over the media.
Yashaswini has over ten cases, including attempt to murder and extortion registered against her in JP Nagar Police station limits.
Reacting to the criticism, Muthalik said that Yashaswini was an accused and not a convict. Moreover justifying his decision to elect Yashaswini, Muthalik said that several of our politicians continue to serve society in different capacities despite facing criminal charges serve society in different capacities.
Meanwhile, Yashaswini has blamed an inspector for adding her name in the history sheet because he had been suspended following a complaint lodged by her. She expressed confidence that she will get a clean chit,
