Bengaluru: Two more FIRs have been filed against Prashanth Kumar M.V., son of BJP MLA Madal Virupakshappa, who is the prime accused in a bribery case.

In addition to the 40 lakhs bribe money, the Lokayukta police had found recovered Rs 1.5 crore cash from two men waiting at Prashanth’s office on March 2.

The recovered cash is prima facie believed to be a commission from a company named Karnataka Aromas operating in Chamarajanagar. In view of this, the sleuths have registered 2 separate FIRs under the Prevention of Corruption Act, based on the complaints filed by Lokayujta Inspector Kumaraswamy.

The first FIR is names Prashanth, his relative Siddesh from Chitradurga, and office accountant Surendra as the accused. In the second FIR, Karnataka Aromas company’s owner Deepak Jadhav, employees — Albert Nicolas and Gangadhar– and KSDL employees have been named as the accused besides Prashanth.

MLA Virupakshappa questioned

MLA Madal Virupakshappa, who faced interrogation by the Loka Police at 4 o’clock on Thursday, appeared for interrogation again on Friday. But it is learnt that he did not respond properly to the investigation. Meanwhile, the Loka authorities are preparing to file an appeal in the Supreme Court to cancel the anticipatory bail.
