Mahadevapura: A lineman employed by BESCOM died due to an electric shock at Cheemasandra under Avalahalli police station limits.

The deceased has been identified as Siddaraju (43), a native of Kanakapura.

The incident occurred during repair work at a transformer. Siddaraju resided in Hoskote with his family, and had been recently transferred from Hoskote Division to Avalahalli.

Siddaraju is survived by his wife, a son, and a newborn girl.

Meanwhile, the family of Siddaraju blamed the negligence of Bescom officials for his tragic death. Siddaraju had become a father to a girl child about 15 days back and the Bescom officials had pressured him to cancel his paternal leave to join duty. The family members alleged that proper medical care was not provided to him after he fell from the transformer.

Meanwhile, death of another person under Becom limits within a month of the death of a woman and child in Kadugodi has led to public outrage.
