Kottigehara: An incident of a tiger hunting down three cows and one calf at the Kannagere coffee estate of Bharatibailu on Thursday, November 24 night has been reported.

However, one calf has managed to escape the attack and run into the Kannagere village, while the other two calves have died, out of which one is being almost eaten by the tiger.

The villagers say that they have witnessed a horrific scene of hunting down a pregnant cow and eating its calf.

As per the villagers, the movement of two tigers has been tracked for the past several days. There are also reports of tigers hunting down several animals in and around the village.

Meanwhile, as the villagers urged the forest department to capture the tiger and shift it elsewhere, Subdivisional Forest Officer Umesh and Forest Conservator Mohasin rushed to the spot and assessed the situation.
