Bhatkal: With seven new cases being registered on Saturday, May 9, the number of COVID-19 positive cases here has increased to 31.
In the seven, 2 are children and other senior citizens. Six of them were in primary contact of a female COVID-19 patient.
Speaking to reporters the Deputy Commissioner of Uttara Kannada district Dr Harish Kumar K stated that most of the positive cases are from primary contact transmission. If anyone has come in contact with any of the positive cases they must immediately report to the district administration.
Speaking after the DC, the District Panchayat’s Chief Executive Officer M Roshan, stated that some of the COVID-19 positive patients had demanded to observe their Roza in their isolation wards due to the period of Ramzan. However, the demand was rejected after counselling those patients and advising them to take their medications as prescribed.
