‘Biased’: Asaram Bapu followers question actor Pearl V Puri’s release on bail in just 11 days

Actor Pearl V Puri, who was booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for alleged rape and molestation of a minor girl was granted bail on June 15.

The news of the actors’ release on bail has however angered followers of Asaram Bapu who remains in prison on accusations of raping a minor in the year 2013.

Netizens, especially Asaram’s devotees accused the court of bias after Pearl Puri was granted bail in 11 days for a case booked under POSCO Act while Asaram’s bail pleas have been rejected.

Some went on to question the judicial system of the country.

Pearl V Puri was arrested on June 4, has been booked under The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

According to Sanjaykumar Patil, DCP, Mira Bhayander Vasai Virar (MBVV) Commmissionerate, the alleged incident took place in October 2019 on the sets where Pearl was shooting.

The minor’s mother learned about the incident after the child complained of abdomen pain. The minor’s father filed a complaint at the Versova police station.
