Bidar: 4 of a family from Maharashtra killed after speeding lorry crashes into autorickshaw

Basavakalyan: Four members of a family met a tragic end after a lorry rammed into an autorickshaw they were travelling in near Mannalli Cross here on Monday.

The deceased have been identified as autorickshaw driver Sunil Jagadale (35), his wife Pramila Sunil Jagdale (32), his mother Anushabai M Jagadale (65) – all residents of Sundarwadi iVillage in Ummarga Taluka of Maharashtra and Pooja Jadhav, a resident of Shahapur Village in Tuljapur.

Another woman, Geeta Shivram Jagdale, sustained serious injuries and has been shifted to a hospital in Latur.

The family were returning from a pilgrimage to Sri Ramalingeswara of Amritakund near Chandakapura in Basavakalyan taluk on account of the holy month of Shravana.

It is gathered that 8 persons were travelling in the ill-fated rickshaw at the time. Three persons sustained minor injuries.

The lorry was reportedly speeding and crashed into the autorickshaw from behind.

A case has been registered at the ocal traffic police station in this regard. Investigations are underway.
