In a tragic incident reported from Harogeri in Bidar, a one-and-a-half-year-old boy was killed after being run over by an Innova car while he was playing on the roadside.
The mishap took place in front of the Gurupadappa Nagamarapalli Hospital.
The deceased was the son of Satish Patil, a resident of Harogeri.
CCTV footage of the incident shows the boy playing on the roadside when a car takes a turn and runs over him. The occupant of a car, parked nearby witnessed the accident. The boy was rushed to the hospital but he died en route.
It is gathered that the driver of the Innova car was talking on his mobile phone while driving.
A case has been registered at Gandhiganj police station and police have seized the vehicle.
