Biggest single-day jump in DK: 97 Covid 19 new cases, one death

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada breached the 1000-mark with the biggest single-day leap of 97 coronavirus cases on Friday, July 3.

The tally of those infected in the district rose to 1,010, excluding 10 cases from other districts. Out of the total cases, 498 cases are presently active while 503 persons have recovered.

A 49-year-old person succumbed to the infection at the district designated COVID-19 hospital taking the death toll to 19 in the district.

As per the district health bulletin, a total of 14,710 samples have been sent for tests till date, out of which 13,408 have turned out negative
