Bike rider’s death: Bus driver sentenced

Mangaluru: A bus driver identified as Litish Kumar (36) from Merlapadavu in Neermarga was sentenced by the 3rd Additional District and Sessions Court to 6 months of imprisonment and fined Rs 5,000 in connection to a bus-motorcycle accident that took place near Taretota cross in the city which claimed the life of the bike rider.

The accident in question took place on May 9th 2013 and the bike rider Prajwal (26) succumbed to the injuries that he sustained during the collision. The case in this regard was registered with the Traffic East Police Station. The then station inspector T D Nagaraj conducted the investigation and submitted the chargesheet to the Court.

The case was investigated by the Judge Manjunath R and assistant public prosecutor argued in favour of the prosecution.
