Indian cuisine is diverse and is known for its spices. It’s hard to define it in one dish and hence, India does not have a specific national dish. However, one cookbook claims otherwise.
On a page from the cookbook, a curry made with apples and onions is referred to as the “National Dish of India,” according to a photo published on Reddit.
1 small apple, 2 tablespoons chopped onion, 2 tablespoons butter, 2 teaspoons curry powder, 3 cloves, or 1/16 teaspoon powdered clove, and 1 teaspoon lemon juice are among the components in the ‘Indian Curry’ recipe.
The apples and onion must be peeled and placed in a frying pan with two tablespoons of butter, according to the recipe.
It also states that the combination must be made into a paste with other ingredients before being used to make the curry.
The post sparked outrage on social media because India lacks a national dish, and the recipe in the book calls for an apple as the first ingredient.
Redditors were enthralled by the strange recipe. After reading the ingredients and the process, many people were perplexed.
