BJP appeals to tie up with JD(S)

Bengaluru: In spite of emerging as the single largest party in the State elections, the BJP cannot form a government of its own. Realisation of this misfortune and affected by the Congress-JD(S) tie up, the BJP has decided to make all attempts to call on the JD(S) for a “long-term alliance”.

The BJP will also try to influence MLAs from both Opposition parties. Party leaders feel that in due time, the JD(S) leaders will reconsider the “political sustainability” of their alliance with the Congress.

The fact that the candidates of the Congress and the JD(S) have been traditional political opponents, fighting on the field of the elections, is also an indication that their alliance would not last long. BJP leaders have their hopes of forming a government dependent on this fact.
