BJP core committee to finalise candidates for RR Nagar, Sira bypolls: Min ST Somashekar

Bengaluru: Minister ST Somashekar on Thursday informed that the BJP core committee will meet today to finalise party candidates for the upcoming bypolls to RR Nagar and Sira assembly seats.

Speaking to reporters here, the minister said that aspirants are hoping to get a party ticket to contest the polls from RR Nagar. The core committee will meet later today to finalise the candidate and will notify the high command about their decision.

No announcement in this regard will be made before the consent of the high command, he added.

Polls to the two assembly seats have been announced on November 3. Among the hopefuls, aspiring for RR Nagar ticket is former Congress MLA N Munirathna who had been disqualified by then assembly Speaker under the anti-defection law last year.
