This budget is in addition to the budget announced by former CM Siddaramiah in which our coastal districts had got many new projects,” said Urban Development and Housing Minister U T Khader on Saturday, July 14th.
Addressing the press meet in Udupi, Khader informed that Rs. 1189 crores had been sanctioned for the drinking Water purpose in Udupi Municipality and that the tender for the drinking water supply in Kaup have been called.
“We have reached the target in rural areas with regard to housing. In urban areas we are planning to build G4 (Ground floor plus 4 storeys) buildings. We are ensuring to provide housing facility to all people as soon as possible,” said Khader giving information on the developmental works to be carried out in Udupi district under his department.
“2 Indira Canteens are working and 2 more canteens will start functioning shortly in Udupi. District Commissioner (DC) has the power to set the target sale for Indira Canteens. Houses will be built for the homeless in Nittur and Kodandoor at a cost of Rs 29 crore,” he informed.
Khader spoke about BJP’s stand on the problems regarding the fishing community and said that the Fishing community in Karnataka was getting better facility than the fishing community in Gujarat. “”BJP has not provided much to the community during its tenure. If BJP is so concerned about them, why they can’t pressurize on central government to provide Kerosene?” he questioned.
