Mysuru: In the wake of the state-wide bandh called by the BJP demanding farm loan waiver, several BJP leaders and MLAs were detained by the police. BJP members who were protesting at Sub urban bus stop in Mysuru tried to picket the Banni Mantap depot. Later, police ended up detaining close to 20 protestors at the spot, including MP Prathap Simha and MLA S.A. Ramdas.

Simha questioned Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy’s statement wherein he had said that he was not at the mercy of the people, but at the mercy of the Congress. “If such is the case, why is he sitting on the seat of the CM,” he asked. He reminded that the CM had promised to waive off loans within 24 hours of coming to power, but had failed to do so. As a response, he claimed that the BJP would fight against that.

In Chamaraj constituency also, BJP MLA Nagendra was detained by the police.
