Addressing the event, Anil Kumar Moka dismissed rumors of groupism within the Ballari BJP unit, affirming his ongoing rapport with senior leader Sriramulu. “All decisions regarding state leadership are taken by senior members. The district president is always chosen through an electoral process,” he stated.
Former MLA Janardhan Reddy extended congratulations to Anil Kumar Moka, expressing confidence in his leadership to unite the party and secure electoral victories for BJP in all constituencies of Ballari.

Koppal: Former Kanakagiri MLA Basavaraj Dadesugur has been elected as the BJP district president for Koppal. The announcement was made during an election process held on Tuesday at the BJP district office in Koppal. This unexpected decision to change the district president within a year has surprised many within the BJP circle.
Last year, the district president post was assigned to Yelburga leader Naveen Gulgannavar. However, the BJP’s decision to replace him with Basavaraj Dadesugur after just a year has sparked speculation about internal dynamics.
The election process, overseen by MLC Hanumant Nirani, saw eight candidates in the fray, including the current district president Naveen Gulgannavar, former MLAs Basavaraj Dadesugur and Paranna Malavalli, Mahantesh Patil Mainahalli, Mahesh Angadi, Shivalila Dalavayi, Chandrashekar Kavalur, and Manjunath Angadi.
The BJP’s decision to appoint Dadesugur is being viewed as an effort to prioritize the SC community within the party. Reports suggest that former minister Halappa Achar opposed Gulgannavar’s continuation, contributing to this change.
Expressing his gratitude, Basavaraj Dadesugur stated, “The party has entrusted me with this responsibility. I will work towards strengthening the organization across the district over the next three years and ensure unity among all workers. I will also appoint office-bearers at the district level and commence organizational activities soon.”
Meanwhile, reports indicate that Naveen Gulgannavar’s removal has caused disappointment among his supporters, especially as he had worked to bring attention to the party’s growth during his tenure. The sudden decision has raised discussions and mixed reactions within the party’s ranks.
