Puttur: BJP’s Karnataka state president B Y Vijayendra has announced that he has instructed Arun Puthila of Puthila Parivar to join the party “without any conditions attached”. This declaration has sparked curiosity among political circles.

Speculation about discussions between Arun Puthila and B Y Vijayendra had been circulating for some time. The state president has now confirmed these talks and openly acknowledged that Arun Puthila had met with him.

Vijayendra emphasized the importance of unity under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, stating, “I have instructed Arun Puthila to join the BJP unconditionally. No conditions required.”

“I will engage in discussions with local leaders of Dakshina Kannada regarding minor matters… BJP will field one united candidate, represented by the lotus symbol. There are no other considerations,” he clarified.

Puthila Parivar’s move awaited:

Puthila Parivar, which had previously set a deadline for the BJP, had stated that they would only join if Arun Puthila was made the president of the Puttur BJP mandal before the Lok Sabha elections. However, despite the senior leaders’ approval, some local BJP and Sangh Parivar leaders expressed opposition. The situation remains unchanged after 20 days with no progress made.

The response of Puthila Parivar to Vijayendra’s statement is awaited, especially considering their demand for a leadership position for Arun Puthila. The State President’s indication that no such post will be offered suggests uncertainty regarding their next move. Arun Puthila is currently on a trip to Ayodhya, and clarity on the situation is expected upon his return.

Meanwhile, the presidency of Puttur Mandal remains pending, with the BJP announcing presidents of all other mandals in Dakshina Kannada district. Speculation suggests that the delay may be related to discussions about offering a position to Arun Puthila. With Vijayendra’s statement, the reasons behind the pending presidency are yet to be revealed.
