BJP sweeps Kollegal City Municipal bypolls, wins 6 out of 7 seats

Kollegal: BJP has swept the Kollegal City Municipal Council bypolls by winning six out of seven seats, here on Monday, October 31.

BJP candidates Prakash, Manasa, Naasir, Ramakrishna, Shareef, Pavitra, and Nagasundramma have won the bypolls.

Speaking to the media, BJP legislator from Kollegala Assembly Constituency N Mahesh said, “I congratulate all the winners. Bhagya from the second ward is the only candidate to win from Congress”.

Earlier, seven City Municipal candidates from Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) who had supported N Mahesh’s candidature from BJP were disqualified from the City Municipal. They were also expelled from BSP for voting against the party’s Whip.
