BJP to take advantage of Lingayat notions this time as well

Bengaluru: The state BJP has given a different take to the Siddaramaiah government’s disputable choice to accord religious minority tag to Lingayat-Veerashaiva (Basava tatva) as a connivance against B S Yeddyurappa to keep him from getting to be the Chief Minister of the state.

As indicated by party sources, it is a politically computed move, and the BJP will be more than once utilizing the trick point at different traditions till election day, to make the issue advantageous for its.

Shah, amid his current visit through the state, said it twice – while tending to a coconut producers’ gathering at Tiptur in Tumakuru area and afterward at a public interview in Davangere. Yeddyurappa is viewed as a compelling Lingayat leaders and henceforth, the party pronounced him its Chief Minister candidate about two years back.

The government, a week ago, informed its choice to accord religious minority status to Lingayat/Veerashaiva (the individuals who take after Basavanna’s standards) and sent the same to the Center in a move seen as an attempt to wear down the BJP’s solid Lingayat voter base. The BJP has been treading cautiously and has received a pause and-watch approach on the issue as the issue has enormous electoral omplification. With the intense Akhila Bharatha Veerashaiva Mahasabha restricting the government’s move and questioning the consideration of the term Basava tatva, the BJP has chosen to go for the execute.

Inducing Lingayat conclusions for gaining voters is just the same old thing to the BJP and it has done so at least twice before, getting it rich electoral profits.
