Police have detained seven persons for questioning in the gruesome murder of BJP Yuva Morcha leader Praveen Nettaru.
Nettaru was hacked to death by unknown assailants when he was headed home after closing his poultry shop on Tuesday night. As soon as he was attacked, he tried to escape and ran but he fell down after a blow on his head, police said.
The police meanwhile have imposed Sec 144 from 6 am on July 27 till midnight on July 28 in Puttur, Sullia ana Kadaba to prevent untoward incidents.
