BJP’s CT Ravi loses Chikkamagaluru to former aide HD Thammaiah

Chikkamagaluru: BJP national general secretary CT Ravi suffered a shock defeat in Chikkamagaluru Assembly Constituency against his former aide HD Thammaiah who contested the polls on a Congress ticket.
Previously associated with the BJP, Thammaiah belongs to the Lingayat community and had worked as the president of Chikkamagaluru Municipal Council.
When Congress announced Thammaiah’s candidature for the polls, there was widespread opposition to the same.
However, Tammaiah emerged victorious in the close contest by securing 60101 votes while CT Ravi got 52201 votes.
