Davangere: Karnataka Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara accused the BJP of making unnecessary allegations against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and misleading the people of the state by planning a padayatra from Bengaluru to Mysuru.

Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Dr. Parameshwara stated that Congress had previously conducted a padayatra with genuine intent to preserve the state’s wealth. However, the BJP is now planning a padayatra based on “baseless accusations against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.”

He claimed that the BJP is attempting to misinform the public about a case that has no legal basis through this padayatra, which he termed unnecessary.

He recalled that the Congress had organized a padayatra against those “looting the state’s wealth and engaging in illegal mining activities.”

He emphasized that the Congress intends to highlight the difference between the BJP’s malicious intent and their own previous padayatra’s noble purpose. He asserted that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has committed no wrong and no illegal activities have taken place, which they aim to make clear to the public.

Dr. Parameshwara also addressed the alleged corruption in the Valmiki Development Corporation, stating that there is no question of justifying any corruption. He mentioned that Siddaramaiah had already formed a committee led by a judge to conduct a proper investigation into the Valmiki scam and the MUDA controversy. He assured that once the report is received, the public will be informed, and the guilty will be punished.

Regarding the allegations of money transfer from the Valmiki Development Corporation to the minister’s account, he said that an investigation is underway. If the report finds any wrongdoing, action will be taken against the minister involved.

Commenting on the dog meat sale case, he clarified, “ The lab report now reveals that it was goat meat. Hence, making such baseless accusations with malicious intent is not right.”
