BJP’s Sharanu Salagar wins in Basavakalyan assembly bypoll

Bidar: BJP candidate in the Basavakalyan Assembly by-election Sharanu Salagar has won by a margin of 20,448 votes.

After the final round of vote count, Salagar’s tally was at 70,556 votes. This is Salagar’s first electoral contest.

Congress candidate Mala Narayana Rao received only 50,108 votes while JD(S)’s Syed Qadri received 11,390 votes.

Former MLA Mallikarjuna Khooba, who contested as an independent candidate after failing to receive a ticket from the BJP received 9,390 votes.
