Blueprint for the development of Sasihithlu beach

Sasihithlu: A blueprint of Rs 7 crore will be created and a study based on it will be conducted for the development of Munda beach at Sasihithlu in Haleyangadi GP, which has identified itself internationally as a tourist centre in Karavali, said Revenue Minister R V Deshpande, speaking with the media after meeting the officials and people’s representatives at the beach.
The state government has the thoughts of developing the beaches from Malpe to Talapady in phases through various grants and in cooperation of the union government. Through this, importance will be provided to tourism along karavali, he said.
The beach development plans should be effective for the next 50 years, implementing a proper retaining wall, walking track, beautiful environment, modern boating, green envelope, shopping area for tourists and connecting roads have been planned accordingly in the development plan, he explained.
On this occasion, Haleyangadi GP and Sasihithlu Beach Development Committee president H Vasant Bernard informed the minister of the river erosion occurring at the estuary here which had destroyed the shops constructed here, the requirement of a retaining wall against the sea and the development work undertaken by the development committee. He also informed the minister of the necessary development works in the future.
Selection extended
The selection of the 94 CC beneficiaries under the Akrama Sakrama scheme has been extended. It has been decided recommenced the extension by increasing the communication between the district level officials and the Revenue Department. Eligible beneficiaries will be selected after a complete inspection, he said.
