B’luru: 300 kg of drug-laced chocolate seized, accused held

Bengaluru: Police have arrested a Uttar Pradesh native and seized 300 kg of drug-laced chocolates from his possession.

The arrested identified as Shamir Akhtar (35) had migrated to Bengaluru to venture into the saree business. Police said that here he got acquainted with another person, hailing from Uttar Pradesh and began selling drugs on his direction.

The accused used to procure the drug-laced chocolate from his hometown and sell them to provision stores in Bengaluru city. The target customers mainly included laborers working at the lorry stand and RMC yard.

Police conducted a raid near the lorry stand here based on credible information and arrested Shamir. He was found to be in possession of 10 bags of drug-laced chocolates.

Police informed that each drug-laced chocolate was being sold at Rs 50-60.
