B’luru: 7 arrested for assault on restaurant staff

Bengaluru: Electronic City police on Thursday arrested seven persons in connection with the assault on the staff of a restaurant after they declined to take their food order at closing hour.

The arrested are identified as Shankar, Kirti G, Abhishek of Garvepalya, Praveen, Hemant Kumar, Abhilash and Abhishek, a Bandepalya resident. Another accused named Dhanush, who happens to be the son of a political leader is absconding.

On November 20 at around 11.30 pm a group of 15 to 20 people had come to the restaurant in Neeladri Nagar, Electronic City, and ordered food. However, the staff declined to provide service since it was the closing hour. angered by this the gang attacked the restaurant staff. Reportedly, the accused were intoxicated.

The incident was recorded by a customer who was present at the place and the video went viral on social media.

Police said that the son of a former Zilla Panchayat member of Anekal taluk was also involved in the incident.
