Bengaluru: A businessman in Bengaluru lodged a police complaint alleging his driver of stealing and selling his Mercedes-Benz car.
Ajay Kumar S (47), Mulbagal based tile merchant told police that Ravi Kumar, a driver of his, stole the luxury car at a hotel in Ramamurthy Nagar in December 2021.
Ravi, an Anantapur native, was hired in August 2021 by the businessman to be his chauffeur.
According to the complaint, Ravi drove Ajay to a hotel in Ramamurthy Nagar on December 23. He was instructed to wait in the car until called again. When Ajay called Ravi again to pick him up, he was no show. Ravi claimed his wife had suddenly fallen sick and was unable to drive him.
Later, Ravi started giving excuses when Ajay asked him about it. When Ajay inquired further, Ravi reportedly confessed about selling the car and dared his employer to do what he wants.
Police, meanwhile, have registered a case and are on the lookout for Ravi.
