Bengaluru: In a road rage incident reported from Bengaluru, a man was dragged on the bonnet of a car for nearly 400 metres in Malleshwaram.

The victim Ashwath is a cab driver. A CCTV footage of the incident, which took place on January 15, has gone viral on social media.

Reportedly, Ashwath’s cab was hit by Mohammed Muneer’s car near Maramma temple. Following this Ashwath stopped Muneer and asked him to come out of the car. However, Muneer tried to drive away from the scene. Ashwath climbed on to the car bonnet in a bid to stop him from fleeing. Enraged by this, Muneer continued to drive dragging Ashwath for nearly 400 metres.

Locals who witnessed the incident ran behind Muneer’s car trying to stop him.

Muneer it is alleged kept applying the car brakes so that Ashwath would lose his grip and fall down.

Malleshwaram police station Hoysala staff reached the spot and took Muneer into custody and registered a non-cognisable report (NCR).

MN Anucheth, Joint Commissioner of Police informed that no one has lodged a complaint in connection with the case so far. “Police have gathered information based on CCTV footage. Action will be taken against the driver later,” he said.
