B’luru: Elderly man alleges police involvement in land scam; consumes poison in front of CM

Bengaluru: An elderly man attempted to kill himself in front of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, alleging that police involvement in land sale fraud.

The incident took place when the chief minister was receiving complaints from the public at his residence in RT Nagar on Friday morning.

The elderly man, identified as Chandrashekhar from Sunkadakatte, consumed a liquid from a suspicious-looking bottle in front of the CM. The security personnel immediately took him aside and interrogated him.

Chandrashekhar accused that he had been cheated of lakhs of rupees in a land sale and that the police inspector of Annapurneshwari Nagar was involved in the scam. He wept in front of the CM demanding that justice be served.

It is gathered that Chandrashekhar had lodged a complaint with the chief minister accusing the police’s involvement in the scam.
