Bengaluru: A man from the West Indies allegedly murdered his apartment manager during a fight at Melumakanahalli village near Hosakote on Monday.
The accused identified Bobby, who claimed to be a national of a country in the Caribbean, is on the run.
The victim, Shivakumar (43), worked as a manager at a residential building owned by Bharath where Bobby was a tenant. His job was to collect rent from the renters and look after the daily maintenance works.
Bobby reportedly was irregular with his rent payments, and Kumar had informed Bharat about it. Fed up with the delays, Bharat had evicted Bobby from the apartment on Sunday. But, he did not do so.
Bharat came to know from Kumar that Bobby had not vacated the house, for which he again warned Bobby to vacate the house immediately or face the consequences. Bobby was angry at Kumar for spying on him.
At 3 PM on the same day, Bobby had a quarrel with Kumar on the second floor of the apartment building. It turned violent when Bobby caught hold of Kumar’s head and banged it against the wall until he dropped dead and then fled from the spot.
Two hours later, a tenant noticed Kumar’s dead body, and soon police were informed about the crime.
Nandagudi police have registered a murder case and have launched a manhunt to trace his whereabouts.
