B’luru: FIR against director Yogaraj Bhat following death of light boy during film shoot

An FIR has been filed against renowned Kannada film director Yogaraj Bhat following the death of a light boy during the shooting of the movie ‘Manada Kadalu’.
The incident occurred on Thursday, September 5 near VRL Arena on the outskirts of North Bengaluru. The victim, identified as Shivaraj (30) from Koratagere in Tumakuru, died after falling from a height of 30 feet.
Yogaraj Bhat, who has directed successful films like ‘Mungaru Male’ and ‘Gaalipata’ during his two-decade career, has been named as Accused No. 3 in the FIR registered by the Madanayakana Halli police. The film’s manager, Suresh, has been listed as Accused No. 1.
Police sources have indicated that the death occurred due to negligence, as proper safety precautions were not taken during the film’s shoot. Shivaraj, the deceased light boy, was reportedly living in the city with his brother.
