As many as 20 departing flights from Kempegowda International Airport were delayed by nearly an hour owing to the heavy downpour in Bengaluru on Friday evening.
The flight operations were affected due to the rains that lashed the city.
Flights arriving at Bengaluru were diverted to Chennai in this period. Reportedly, the operations commenced normally after 7.38 pm.
A TNIE report quoted a spokesperson of airport operator, Bangalore International Airport Limited stating “Landing of flights as well as departures commenced normally after 7.38 pm, she said. “There was some traffic congestion in arrival flights. This got eased by 8.26 pm.”
