Bengaluru: Police arrested the foreigner who was on the run after he killed the apartment manager at Mallikakanapura, near Hoskote.
Police said that the 36-year old suspect is a Nigerian national, and not a Caribbean national as he had claimed. The accused Daniel Chinagro Ala So, alias Bobby, is now in police custody.
Bobby had arrived in India as a tourist about 10 years ago but overstayed the visa, police said.
On Monday, Bobby had killed 43-year-old apartment manager Shiva Kumar by repeatedly banging his head to a wall. The motive for the killing seems to be anger over Kumar’s involvement in getting him evicted.
Bobby was angry with Kumar for not releasing his belongings, including a refrigerator, DHNS quoted police as saying.
prior to the murder, the Nigerian was evicted from the rented apartment over non-payment of rent. But he had refused to leave. This had led to a quarrel with the apartment owner, Bharath, who had warned the Nigerian to be forcefully thrown out.
