Bengaluru: Actor Sonu Sood is being hailed as a real hero for his heart-warming gesture of arranging buses for migrant workers who were stranded amid the coronavirus lockdown.

The actor has now arranged to fly back home around 167 women labourers who were stranded in Kerala’s Ernakulam district.

The workers hailing from Odissa were rendered jobless after the factory where they were employed shut its operations amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Sood who came to know of their plight, along with his friend connected with the labourers via social media. As travelling via road would have been difficult, the actor decided to airlift them.

With Kochi and Bhubaneshwar airports operational only for a few hours, amid the lockdown, Sood sought requisite permission from the government and a special aircraft was arranged to reach Kochi from Bengaluru.

This Air Asia flight departed for Bhubaneshwar at 8 am today morning and from there, buses have been arranged to take them to their homes in Kendrapara.
