A case has been registered at Pulakeshinagar police station against five transgender persons for allegedly sedating a man and castrating him to transition him into a transwoman.
The 18-year-old victim, a resident of D.J. Halli used to work at a tea stall near Ambedkar College.
In his complaint, he mentioned that the accused — Chitra, Preeti, Kajal, Ashwini, and Mugila — used to frequent the tea shop and lured him with promises of a better life and income if he joined them.
Initially, the youth refused their offer. However, the accused allegedly threatened him and forcibly took him to their home on Tannery Road, where he was kept under house arrest for several days. They also blackmailed him by threatening to kill his family and forcing him into begging.
For the last three years, the victim allegedly earned and gave the accused around Rs. 2,000 daily. He alleged that the accused said that he would earn more money if he were a woman and pressured him to undergo gender transition surgery. When he refused, they allegedly tortured him and injected him with sedatives.
When he regained consciousness, he discovered that his genitals had been surgically removed. The accused then forced him to perform a ritual and forced him to work as a sex worker. They also demanded Rs. 5 lakh from him, he alleged.
The youth escaped and filed a complaint against the five accused, seeking legal action.
