B’luru: Man arrested for cheating govt job seekers at Vidhana Soudha

Bengaluru: A man was arrested by Vidhana Soudha police for posing as a government employee and cheating graduates seeking government employment with fake job offers.
The accused, Eeranna, a native of Kampanahalli in Tumkuru, claimed to himself to be a First Division Assistant (FDA) in the Kannada and Culture Department. He met his victims near the Vidhana Soudha, promised them jobs as village accountants in various districts across the state, and took thousands of rupees in commissions, reports said.
The fraud came to light after a victim filed a police complaint.
As per police, the accused also encouraged the aspirants to get fake PUC marks cards with high scores, saying that it would quicken their application. He had asked at least 7 job seekers to get fake marks cards, police said.
Further investigations are underway.
