B’luru: Man hides under the bed for six hours waiting for wife’s lover; stabs him to death

Bengaluru: A 31-year-old man hid under a cot for more than six hours to kill his wife’s lover and stabbed him to death when he turned up on Thursday, March 25 at Andrahalli, west Bengaluru

The accused, identified as Bharath Kumar, was a resident of Rohithnagar. He was a carpenter by profession and has been held on charges of murder.

His wife’s lover, identified as Shivakumar aka Shivaraj, was a resident of Hoshalli Tande near Tarikere, Chikkamagaluru district.

Bharath and his wife Vinutha had tied the knot eight years ago, the duo worked in a factory and had two children. Shivaraj belonged to Vinutha’s village and had come to visit her in search of a job three years ago.

He stayed at her house for almost a week and Vinutha managed to arrange a job for Shivaraj.  Later, he confessed his love, but she turned him down. After a few days, she agreed when Shivaraj threatened to commit suicide.

Bharath came to know about the affair and decided to kill Shivaraj.  Vinutha also left her husband’s house and started living alone at Andrahalli

It is said that Bharath entered the house around 8.30 pm when Vinutha had gone to a nearby store to buy chicken. He hid under the cot around 9 pm till 3 am.  Around 10.30 pm her lover came to her place and they went to sleep after dinner.

Around 3 am when Vinutha went to the washroom, Bharath locked her inside and tried to strangle her partner, and also stabbed him multiple times in the abdomen with a knife.

Byadarahalli police were informed about the murder around 4 am and Bharath was arrested from the crime scene.
