Bengaluru: Three months after the car being sold on OLX was stolen by a potential customer, Amrutahalli police solved the case and arrested the man for stealing the car.

The accused, MG Venkatesh Nayak (36) from Amrita Nagar, was arrested on charges of stealing the vehicle. The stolen car and a mobile phone were confiscated from him, police said.

As per police, Hebbal-resident Ravindra Iluri had advertised on OLX for selling his Maruti Vitara Brezza. The accused showed interest in buying the car. Nayak took the car keys from Ravindra and went for a test drive and did not return it.

Ravindra approached the Amrithahalli police and lodged a complaint about the theft.

After a 3-month-long thorough investigation, Nayak was arrested on May 10, police said. The accused has cases of mobile phone theft against him at the Bagalur police station, police added.
