In a freak accident, a pillion rider died on the spot after a lorry overturned on the Nagarabhavi flyover and the wooden logs it was transporting fell on the two-wheeler.
The deceased has been identified as N Mukesh. Two other persons, including Mukesh’s brother-in-law, sustained injuries and have been admitted to a hospital.
The accident took place at 5am when Mukesh was returning home after visiting his native. His wife’s brother David had come to pick him up at the Mysuru Road Satellite Bus Station on a TVS Scooty.
When they reached the flyover, the driver of a speeding lorry, laden with wood logs and moving towards Nayandahalli, lost control of the vehicle. As a result the lorry overturned and the wood logs fell on the road. A few of the logs fell on the scooty, killing Mukesh on the spot and injuring David and another man named Shivu, 26, police said.
