Bengaluru: CCB police have foiled the plan of a jailed rowdy sheeter to get a man killed here. As many as 9 persons, including the rowdy sheeter’s parents and brother, have been arrested for their involvement in the crime.
Police said that Rowdy sheeter named Mani, who is serving jail term in a murder case, roped in his family members and associates to kill the paramour of his wife. Nine of whom have been arrested, police said.
The arrested accused were identified as Mani’s mother Savita (56), her husband Satish (60), Mani’s brother Vinay (23), and associates Raghavendra, Balaraj, Naveen, Harish, Darshan, and Ajay.
Mani is married but his wife, who worked at a garment factory, lived separately. Mani also has an eight-year-old daughter from the marriage. Girish, an auto driver and a resident of Jai Maruti Nagar in Nandini Layout, used to take Mani’s wife to work in his auto-rickshaw every day. It is rumored that there was a romantic relationship between the two.
Mani had suspicions about his wife’s relationship with Girish. Being behind bars, Mani hatched a plan to eliminate Girish with help from his family and other accomplices, the police claimed.
Based on Mani’s instructions, the accused abducted Girish from the auto station at Yeshwantpur at around 10 PM on March 17, police said.
The accused took him to a garage owned by Mani’s friend in Laggere. They thrashed him and then locked him up at a house. The next day, they were planning to take Girish to Mysuru, kill him and dispose of the body.
Based on credible information, police rescued Girish and arrested the 9 involved in the crime.
