B’luru: Pvt hospital turns away 77-yr-old COVID-19 patient; FIR filed

Bengaluru: An FIR has been filed against a private Hospital located on Bannerghatta Road here on Thursday for turning away a 77-year-old coronavirus patient, who then died on the premises.
Utpal Sinha, a 77-year-old Covid-19 patient was suffering from serious breathing problems. The hospital authorities refused to admit him due to which he died on the premises.
Bommanahalli Health Officer Dr Nagendra had complained to the Puttenahalli police that the death was due to medical negligence.
The complainant said the hospital violated rules as it reserved fewer beds than it had to for government-referred patients.
