B’luru Rural SP transferred after scandalous video goes viral

Bengaluru: The state government has decided to transfer Bengaluru Rural SP Dr Bheemashankar S Guled after a scandalous video of him went viral on the media. 

A video of the officer alongside a lady was broadcast on various news channels and was likewise generally shared via social media. The video was purportedly shot by Dr Bheemashankar himself and submitted by the lady’s husband to the Koramangala police, as proof that Dr Bheemashankar had pressurized her into giving him sexual favors. The husband has filed a complain with the Koramangala police under the IPC section 497 (infidelity). 

The video has brought shame to the police and this constrained the government’s hand to transfer the officer. A position has not yet been allocated to Dr Bheemashankar. 

After a discussions at the Vidhana Soudha, it was decided that Dr Bheemashankar would be transferred and DCP (traffic) West Bengaluru T Shivakumar would replace him. 

Dr Bheemashankar has denied all assertions in the issue throughout.
