Customs officials at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) foiled a gold smuggling bid by two air passengers and recovered gold, valued at over Rs 41.6 lakh from their possession.
Both the passengers, natives of Delhi had arrived in Bengaluru from Dubai via Flydubai flight FZ 405 on Tuesday afternoon. Noticing that these two passengers were walking in a suspicious manner, the officials involved in the passenger profiling pulled them aside two for questioning.
They however gave vague replies and upon further questioning, the duo admitted to smuggling gold.
