B’luru: Teen steals mobile phones to fund cricket betting, partying; held

Bengaluru: Siddapura Police arrested a 19-year-old teen for stealing mobile phones and using the sale proceeds for betting on cricket matches and partying with friends.
The accused Muthu, a resident of Siddapura would target people at bus stands and crowded public areas in and around Chamarajpet, Mysore Road, KR Market, Kalasipalya, and KG Nagar police station limits.
Police said that he would sell the stolen phones for money and then spend the money on girls, partying with friends, and cricket betting. They recovered 23 mobile phones worth Rs 3.5 lakhs from his possession.
